The CMS Innovation Center (CMMI) has awarded Telligen, in collaboration with prime contractor RTI International, the contract to support implementation and monitoring of the Enhancing Oncology Model (EOM), a five-year voluntary model which aims to improve quality and reduce cost of oncology care.

This model is the next step of the Oncology Care Model (OCM) which Telligen, RTI and Actuarial Research Corporation (ARC) have been supporting for the past 6 years. Under OCM, physician practices participated in implementing practice transformation to support high quality, coordinated cancer care while achieving financial accountability for the cost of patient care.

Telligen will support EOM by:

  • Assisting participants through technical support and education.
  • Providing support for quality measure implementation and data collection to meet the needs of EOM participants
  • Defining specifications and support participates in submitting for oncology-specific clinical data
  • Providing clinical expertise to support data collection
  • Monitoring participants for successful compliance with program requirements

“We are excited to leverage our oncology and payment model operations expertise as part of the team that will continue the oncology model efforts.” said Bruce Grotenhuis, Vice President of Federal Health Solutions.

The model will begin on July 1. Read more about the EOM here: https://innovation.cms.gov/innovation-models/enhancing-oncology-model.
